Visiting Other Elks Lodges

Q: How do I find out where there are Elks lodges within Minnesota or in other states? Is my membership good at another lodge?
A: The easiest way to find other Elks lodge locations is to use the Lodge Locator feature on the national Elks website. You can search for lodges by state or by zip code. You can find the locator on the national site by going to:
http://www.elks.org/locator.cfm.
An alternative is the printed lodge directory which can be found at the lodge and lists all the lodges, their address, highlights of their facilities (e.g. allows RVs) as
well as dues information. Just ask the bartender for the directory.
In terms of your membership, yes, your membership will allow you entry to every Elks lodge throughout the United States. Here in Minnesota, your Elks membership card will provide entry through the card reader system similar to that at our lodge. For lodges outside of Minnesota, simply ring the bell for entry into the facility. Most lodges will ask for verification of your membership so be sure to bring your membership card with you and present it upon request. Please sign their guest book so that they know you stopped by but also so the lodge knows what a great lodge Hopkins is and how well we support the Elks organization!
You can attend a lodge meeting at another lodge and will be acknowledged as a guest.
Many of the lodges have facilities such as pools, tennis courts, even a golf course. You can generally use their facilities as if you were a local member. However, there may be local policies that restrict what can and cannot be used so it is best to check with the local lodge first to understand their rules.
Some lodges may also offer a free drink or a buy one get the second drink free. This varies from lodge to lodge per their local policies.
Visiting lodges either within Minnesota or throughout the country is one of the many benefits of your Elks membership. It’s a great way to meet new people while out of town and feel welcome in a new city. It’s also a great place to stop and ask about local hotels, restaurants and places to see. What better way to find out about the town than to ask the locals!
