Important Things to Know When we open, there are a couple important things to know:
Our occupancy will be limited based on state guidelines. The pavilion seating has been reconfigured to maximize the number of people at one time. The inside seating will be limited as well.
Seating will be limited as we need to maintain safe social distances. Tables can accommodate up to 4 people (6 if from the same household).
You will be required to show your membership card. If you haven’t had a chance to renew your membership, make that a priority this week.
Employees/Volunteers will be required to wear masks. Members are encouraged to wear them when not eating/drinking.
An abbreviated menu will be available. Lunch will be available from Gramsky's 11am - 2pm, our wonderful volunteers will be cooking up the menu in the evenings, and our express breakfast will be available on Sundays 10am -1pm. Don't forget, pizza and popcorn/chips are available at any time. We are still looking for volunteers to cook and serve. Please contact Cindy M or Clyde U to get on the list.
Frequently Asked Questions
I had some questions asked by our members yesterday so thought I would help answer them for everyone in case you had the same ones. Please note these are guidelines set by the State of Minnesota and not the Elks. Our #1 goal is making sure these guidelines are followed to protect all of our members! If you see any of these guidelines aren't being met please let me know
Why are we only open Thur - Sun?
Since the governor surprised us and changed the dates for opening so quickly from June 1st outside only to June 10th at half capacity inside/outside we had to scramble quicker than expected. We needed to finish all of the updates, find bartenders, cooks, servers, etc and it was tough filling those spots without a lot of notice. Please note this is only temporary and we should be able to go back to our regular hours in a few weeks.
Why are other bars/restaurants in town allowing their customers to sit in large groups, stand, etc? See actual clips from state guidelines below in yellow.
Do not allow guests to congregate in checkout and waiting areas, self-service food and beverage areas, outside restrooms or in bars, and maintain a minimum of 6’ of social distancing. As Elks we want to do what is right and not follow what others are doing wrong. I have been told they will be doing unannounced audits and I don't want to give them any reason to shut us down!!
Why can't I sit next to someone at the bar?
A limit of two customers may be seated together at the counter for service at any one time.
Why are reservations required?
To make sure we aren't at capacity. Please remember walk in reservations are accepted but note you may be turned away if there are no tables / bar stools available.
Why do I have to sign in?
If any of our members test positive with the virus we will have a record of who was in the lodge to contact them quickly to let them know they may have been exposed.
Why do our employees have to wear masks?
Require workers to wear masks at all times and strongly encourage customers to wear masks when not eating or drinking.
Why is there no smoking in the pavilion?
Since we are only open to 50% capacity and we have added food service in the pavilion no smoking is allowed. There are 3 picnic tables in the grassy area for our members to use but alcohol must remain in the pavilion while smoking.
When is the regular menu going to be available?
Once we reopen with our regular hours - trust me I am looking forward to steak fry also!! ;)
Why do we have to show our membership card?
We have always had to show our membership card as this is nothing new. We had over 100 members who hadn't paid their dues as of yesterday so if you haven't paid them yet you can give your cash/check to the hostess when you arrive. Please remember you are required to have them paid before you can come in.
Why is there a 90 minute limit?
Due to the limited capacity at this time we want to make it fair to all members to be able to enjoy their membership. If no one is in the time slot after you then it is ok to stay longer.
Why did prices go up slightly?
It's been over 5 years since our prices have changed and with all the price increases our club has had to pay over the years we needed to change the prices slightly.
